Tech Recycle is a fully certified Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) recycling company. If you have been holding onto your redundant IT or office equipment until you have found a safe, professional and ethical solution to dispose it we can help you and furthermore our service is Free of Charge.

What do we take?

We ask for a minimum of 10 items in order to cover our overheads but will accept all forms of IT and office equipment whether working or not. This includes but is not limited to tablets, IPad’s, PCs, monitors*, laptops, servers, batteries, cables, keyboards, printers, photocopiers, shredders, phones and phone systems. We also take industry specific items such as video, photographic and conferencing equipment, educational hardware, test and development equipment. The generic phrase we use is ‘anything with a plug’. There is no upper limit and we are happy to decommission entire buildings, data centres and computer suites.

Data destruction

We destroy all data passed to us safely and securely. The destruction process meets or exceeds many internationally recognised standards including the UK’s Communications Electronics Security Group’s (CESG’s) HMG Infosec Standard No. 5 and US Army AR380-19 DoD 5220.22 M. Once this process is complete we issue a data destruction certificate.

*The small print!

In order to keep our service free of charge in 99% of cases, there are a few exceptions. We can’t accept white goods (e.g. fridges and freezers), and we charge £7 plus VAT  for CRT monitors and £14 plus VAT for televisions. If you have less than ten items, we can still collect, but we make an admin charge of £25 plus VAT  for small collections to cover our costs. As a rule, an example of ‘an item’ is a PC, tft monitor or a printer – we don’t include things such as keyboards, mice or printer cartridges as individual items. We try to be as flexible as we can, so if you’re hunting around for that elusive final item, give us a call.
